Adventures, Birthdays and Chaos

It’s been a weird couple of weeks. First illness in all of us (flu), then adventures, then Hedgehog’s birthday, then injured cats… all interspersed with an extremely demanding and taxing Nookie who has challenged me to the point of screaming. Here’s our last couple of weeks in pictures…

Watching a busker in the town centre. Nookie insisted we clap after each song, which he was kind enough to humour. :)

YAY! I have a bicycle! Ebay gem. Plus a new bike seat for Nookie which she (so far) loves riding in. (And yes that is the underneath of our bed... :/)

Nannie's house now has a trampoline! SO much fun.

It was Hedgehog’s birthday. He doesn’t normally celebrate his birthday, but I’ve talked him into letting Nookie celebrate with him. This year was the first birthday of his we’ve ever celebrated. And I made cake (of course)! Any excuse for cake! Especially my take on a Choccywoccydoodah super chocolate drizzle cake overflowing with truffles… TA DA!

Hedgehog's birthday cake. It was SOOO delicious!

One day I got up to find blood splatters all over the floor. After a quick inspection I couldn’t see anyone (pet-wise) obviously hurt so forgot about it. Two days later I pushed our cat Dandy Lion out of the way with my foot and she howled. Upon close inspection her tail was obviously damaged. Upon closer inspection still… well, the bone was sticking out the end! The next morning we took her to the PDSA who operated that afternoon. Every vertebra in her tail had been smashed as though something was dropped on her tail, and the skin on the end had been torn clean off down to the bone (OUCH!). The vet had to remove her entire tail. So now we have a very sore tailless cat. Thankfully though she’s doing fine now. You wouldn’t even know she was hurt…

Poor Dandy Lion. She had such a beautiful swishy tail too. :(

While we waited for the vet to operate (the PDSA don’t mess about with overnight stays… you get the basic service) we spent time in a little play centre. Nookie had fun…

That evening she chilled out "playing" some Slipknot on the guitar.

One day online I found out about this amazing park in a nearby town that has a little funfair attached. So we went with Tanya, only to discover it was closed until the weekend out of season (not what it said on the website!). Nookie was pretty upset, but we managed to occupy her for a while in the EPIC, FREE park.

WEEE!!

It's SO HIGH! I did eventually work up to climbing it too (I'm scared of heights), but I didn't enjoy it much. And yes, Nookie did go down it by herself. It was SO fast!

The following weekend we went back with Nannie and Grandad and had lots of fun in the funfair.

My mum sooo didn't enjoy this. Nookie did though.

This was Nookie's first time on this slide thing. I was more than a little worried. But she was fine.

She was actually slightly too young for this one, but the little white lie didn't hurt anyone. And of course she enjoyed the giant trampoline.

We have so much fun. :)

This was fun... until it sprayed her with water and that was kind of the last straw in a very tired Nookie. After that it was all tears and tantrums unfortunately.

So yeh, it’s been a crazy week. Nookie has been very demanding, the house looks like a bomb has dropped, bills haven’t been paid… it’s been chaos. But I guess this is our life. And I wouldn’t change that for the world. :)
