I honestly haven’t had any time for blogging! Nookie’s sleep is all over the place at the minute and I’m barely managing to get the basic housework done around her crazy nap and sleep schedule. The only reason I’m here now to write this is because it’s 6am, I’ve been awake for two hours, and I just cannot get back to sleep.
So, things have been a little crazy around here, and are about to get insane! I spoke about the fact we’ve been looking into moving house a little while ago. Well, things have developed. After being turned down for numerous houses over the last few weeks, a house came up on my mum’s street. A lovely, big house. So we put in our bid, telephoned the council just to emphasize how perfect this would be for us, and it’s looking like we might have it! Someone came from the council to assess the state of our current house yesterday, which went well, and we’re just waiting on a visit from the Occupational Therapist to assess the potential new house for it’s suitability for Hedgehog’s disability. If the Occupational Therapist gives the thumbs up it’s ours!!! I’m so excited! It’s a large three-bedroomed house with a dining room, and it’s decorated really nicely inside (no empty shell like this house was when we took it!). It has a front garden and a huge back garden (which just needs fencing off). It even has a big wooden wendy-house in the back that the previous tenants have left behind! Nookie will just love that.
I can’t even begin to explain how much easier life will be moving so close to my family! My mum lives on the same street and my brother and sister-in-law live just around the corner. Nookie will be able to see her nannie and aunt and uncle all the time. We’re slightly concerned about living so close to my mum (valuing our independence and all!), but she’s assured us she won’t be popping around all the time. We’ll save a fortune on fuel from all the journeys across town we’ll no longer have to make!
So yeh. Moving house with eight cats, two dogs and a three-year-old when one of you can’t help with the moving… Should make for an interesting few weeks! I imagine there will be more than a few crossed words, stressed-out shouting, and drama, but hopefully it’ll all be well worth it in the end. I can’t believe how much more SPACE we’re going to have! It will be amazing!
